Dieses Buch vereint die 106 Melodien, über die Wilder in ihren „Little House“-Büchern schrieb. Die Melodien werden im Lead-Sheet-Format präsentiert, mit Akkordsymbolen für optionale Begleitinstrumente. Geschrieben in den traditionellen Fiddle-Tonarten, die Pa Ingalls höchstwahrscheinlich verwendet hat, reichen diese Melodien im Schwierigkeitsgrad von „sehr leicht“ bis „etwas schwierig“, wobei die meisten in den Bereich „leicht“ bis „mittelschwer“ fallen. Es sind Vorschläge für Bogenführung und Fingersatz enthalten, ebenso wie hilfreiche Techniken für Violine und Fiddle. Ebenfalls enthalten sind historische Anmerkungen zu vielen der Melodien sowie Zitate aus den Büchern und Szenenbeschreibungen, die hervorheben, wann jede Melodie zum ersten Mal in den „Little House“-Geschichten auftaucht.
