»Songs for Piano« ist eine anspruchsvolle Auswahl von Musiken aus Mikis Theodorakis' Liederzyklen, Balletten und Filmen wie »Alexis Zorbas« und aus dem Oratorium »Axion Esti«. Inspiriert von der griechischen Mythologie und Bildern des Alltags, spiegelt die Musik den Freiheitskampf des Komponisten und seine Liebe zum griechischen Volk wider. Zum allerersten Mal sind diese Lieder nun in einer Fassung für fortgeschrittene Klavieranfänger erhältlich. Die Pianistin Tatiana Papageorgiou, eine der führenden Interpretinnen von Theodorakis' Musik, hat die Stücke mit großer Detailgenauigkeit entsprechend der Originalaufnahmen bearbeitet.
